Our club and friends of Rotary read one-to-one with students from two area elementary schools four times during the year (September, December, February, and April) and students will also be provided with books to take home for their in-home library. Emphasis will be placed on each child to have the opportunity to read on a one-to-one basis with a Rotarian and/or Friend of Rotary to enhance their ability to read aloud. Many of these students have little adult interaction and this project will allow for increased interaction with adults. The books provided may be the only new book these students receive due to the high poverty level.
Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
